Frequently Asked

What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?

Coaching focuses on your present and future helping you gain clarity, set goals, and take actionable steps forward. Therapy often explores deeper mental health concerns and past traumas. While I’m trauma-informed, I’m not a therapist. I am trauma-informed, which means I understand how past experiences can impact your present, and I approach every conversation with sensitivity, safety, and respect. However, I can support the work you’re doing with a therapist by helping you develop practical ways to cope with a diagnosis, teaching emotional regulation techniques, and creating strategies to navigate daily challenges. Think of it as complementary support that helps you apply what you’re learning in therapy to real-life situations.

Who do you work with?

I primarily serve women over 35 navigating major life transitions—such as career changes, divorce, foster/adoption parents, caregiving for elderly parents, rediscovering themselves or needing a safe place to process out loud and unload their struggles. However, anyone seeking a supportive, judgment-free space is welcome. Because I’m trauma-informed, I create a safe space for people who may have experienced difficult or painful life events to share openly without fear of judgment.

What topics can we talk about?

Anything that’s important to you relationships, career, faith, wellness, personal growth, parenting challenges, or simply processing life changes. There’s no “too small” or “too big” topic for our sessions.

How long is a session?

Standard sessions are 50 minutes. I also offer shorter “empathetic listening calls” and extended deep-dive sessions, depending on your needs.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. Sessions can be held via Zoom, or in-person (when available). This allows you to choose the environment where you feel most comfortable.

What is empathetic listening?

It’s the practice of fully hearing, understanding, and validating your feelings without rushing to fix or minimize them. This allows you to process experiences more deeply and gain clarity.

Do you give advice?

It depends on the type of session you book. In coaching sessions, I do not give advice because coaching is not about telling you what to do. Instead, it’s about asking thoughtful questions, helping you uncover your own answers, and guiding you toward solutions that align with your values and goals. Coaching empowers you to make decisions with confidence.

In consulting or mentoring sessions, I do offer advice and recommendations. This is where I share my experience, strategies, and practical steps you can take, based on your situation. The difference is that coaching draws the answers from within you, while consulting and mentoring bring insights and direction from my expertise.

How do I know if this is right for me?

If you feel unheard, overwhelmed, or stuck in a season of life and want clarity, support, and a compassionate space to think and feel this may be exactly what you need.

How do I get started?

You can book your first session directly through my website. If you’re unsure, I offer a free 15-minute introductory call to see if we’re a good fit.
